Diamonds Guide
1. Understand the 4Cs (Foundation of Diamond Quality)
Every diamond is evaluated based on four objective criteria, known as the 4Cs.
Cut (Most Important)
-
Determines how well the diamond reflects light.
-
A well-cut diamond appears brighter and more brilliant, regardless of size.
-
Grades typically range from Excellent → Poor.
-
Priority recommendation: Always choose Excellent or Very Good cut.
Color
-
Measures how colorless a diamond is.
-
Scale: D (colorless) → Z (noticeable yellow/brown).
Clarity
-
Refers to internal inclusions and external blemishes.
-
Scale: FL → I3.
-
Optimal value range: VS1–SI1 (clean to the naked eye).
Carat (Weight, Not Size)
-
Carat affects price exponentially.
-
Visual size depends on cut, not just carat.
