Diamonds Guide

1. Understand the 4Cs (Foundation of Diamond Quality)

Every diamond is evaluated based on four objective criteria, known as the 4Cs.

Cut (Most Important)

  • Determines how well the diamond reflects light.

  • A well-cut diamond appears brighter and more brilliant, regardless of size.

  • Grades typically range from Excellent → Poor.

  • Priority recommendation: Always choose Excellent or Very Good cut.

Color

  • Measures how colorless a diamond is.

  • Scale: D (colorless) → Z (noticeable yellow/brown).

Clarity

  • Refers to internal inclusions and external blemishes.

  • Scale: FL → I3.

  • Optimal value range: VS1–SI1 (clean to the naked eye).

Carat (Weight, Not Size)

  • Carat affects price exponentially.

  • Visual size depends on cut, not just carat.
